Tarot Card Reading for Holiday Insights (from December 16th, 2025 to January 16th, 2025)

Updated: Dec 18

**If the prediction under your sun sign does not resonate, don’t force it; I recommend reading the prediction under your moon sign, as it may be a better fit.**

Aries: 10 of Wands

10 of wands tarot deck card embroidered with oranges, yellows, and warm colors
10 of wands from the Enchanted Tarot

Takeaway: Ouch.

On a scale from singed to scorched, how burnt out are you? This card represents a type of exhaustion—be it physical, mental, or emotional. Consider what is pushing you to the brink. As December and early January approach, you may find that this stressor is reaching its breaking point.Something in your life has come to a conclusion or is no longer sustainable. The number ten symbolizes the end of a journey, indicating that a chapter is closing. It’s time to acknowledge that something has reached its necessary end.

That does not always need to be a bad thing. It's okay if this comes as a relief.

Taurus: Knight of Wands

A nude figure on a broom holds a wand before a crescent moon, surrounded by stars and two bats. Text reads "Knight of Wands."
Knight of wands from The Divine Feminine Tarot

Takeaway: Run, don’t walk.

The fastest of all the knights in the deck, the Knight of Wands encourages forward movement. What have you been putting off doing? What is something, in your gut, that you know needs to happen? Do it. And run, don’t walk.

Additionally, as a fire sign (wands), the knight of wands is direct and unashamed in his pursuit. So, DO IT WITH INTENTION. Don’t be wishy-washy about your actions. Do what needs to be done with conviction and purpose, it's been long enough…

Gemini: Ace of wands

Owl flying near lightning and feather engulfed in flames, set against a dark sky. The word "INSPIRATION" is at the bottom.
Ace of wands from the Brady Tarot

Takeaway: Let inspiration strike you.

Have you been waiting for an idea to strike you? For the next steps on your path to be illuminated? Just waiting for something? The universe is preparing to give you that spark of ignition, that, if tended to correctly, could set a new journey into motion.

But like lightning, this spark may be accompanied by a storm. If you are in that storm, this is the universe’s acknowledgment that, “I see your struggles, I see your pain,” but also a promise that something is about to be illuminated for you. Don’t be afraid, be inspired.

Cancer: Two of Swords

Green-skinned figure in purple, crossing swords. Background: abstract trees. Text reads "11 of Swords." Mood: intense, mystical.
Two of swords from the Eldritch Overload Tarot

Takeaway: Make the decision already.

The two of swords represents a decision that needs to be made. Typically depicted with a blindfolded figure, this card symbolizes making that decision without being able to see anything around you. You may be deciding to walk down a path not knowing where it will eventually lead, or maybe you have to make a choice without the input of people around you. Let yourself be free of the opinions of others. Know that no amount of research or information gathering can make us wholly prepared for the future.

Leo: Five of Cups

Tarot card depicting "Five of Cups" with stacked cups and organic designs. An eye, plants, and a teardrop appear above. Pale blue background.
Five of cups from the Rosa Obscura Tarot

Takeaway: Don’t cry over spilled milk.

This card is bittersweet. Typically depicted with 5 cups total, 3 spilled and 2 full, this card acknowledges that, on the one hand, real hurt and pain have occurred. No doubt about it, you have endured some hardships. But, on the other hand, you have two full cups at your disposal, two full cups to be grateful for.

This is the universe saying don’t give in or give up. You have things going for you; take stock of your assets and, after a good rest, reassess your plan forward.

Virgo: Three of Pentacles

A pink tiger's face with an open mouth is surrounded by butterflies, flowers, and stars. Text reads "TRES DE OROS" and "THREE OF PENTACLES."

-

Takeaway: You don't have to do it alone.

Whatever goals you are looking to accomplish, obstacles to tackle, or problems to solve this month, all will be better accomplished through teamwork.

We get it, Virgo, you are driven, dependable, and more than capable of taking care of yourself, anyone, or anything that comes your way…but should you have to all the time? Asking for help does not diminish your abilities, make you any less strong, or any less capable. I often tell my loved ones, thank you, when they ask for my support. It is an honor and a reaffirmation of their trust in me. The three of pentacles reminds us that, by engaging in this process of being vulnerable and drawing on our support system, we not only come up with better problem solutions, but also build reciprocal trust and fortify our relationships.

Libra: Seven of Wands

A red-haired figure in blue holds a flaming staff under a starry sky. "SEVEN OF WANDS" text below. Mountains in the background.
Seven of wands from the Dreamy Moons Tarot

Takeaway: Stand tall. Head up. Don’t cave.

This is not the time to compromise to try to keep the peace, libra. You may be challenged or pushed on a matter. Trust your gut and stand strong for whatever position you take (even if that position is “I don’t know”).

Take care though, there is a way to defend your position or point of view without being defensive. Be clear and kind, while remaining true to your values. Lashing out, being unkind, or punishing won’t serve you here. However, nor should it serve them… you do not need to tolerate disrespect or vitriol.

Scorpio: Two of Cups

Embroidered card with two white swans and pink water lilies on a dark blue background. Text reads "Deuce" and the number 2 is visible.
Two of cups from the Embroidered Forest Tarot

Takeaway : Lucky in love.

It’s a good day to be a scorpio because with the two of cups comes newfound love. While this card may signal something romantic, it could just as soon indicate a new adoration for a particular hobby or subject matter. Maybe it means a resurgence of love for yourself and appreciation for all you have to offer. Whatever the case may be, this love is a honeymoon like adoration; new, exciting, and invigorating. This may not be the deepest love in the world…yet… but thats not an excuse to be hesitant, every story needs a beginning.

Sagittarius: The Devil

A tarot card with a red fox sitting under a berry tree, crossed sticks, and "XV The Devil" text. Earthy tones and ornate border.
The Devil card from the Forager’s Daughter Tarot

Takeaway: Be the villain

Okay, I know the Devil carries a lot of negative connotations in mainstream culture, but this is actually one of my favorite cards in the deck.

So often people who break norms, who go against the grain, or who are otherwise outliers in our society are labeled as bad or evil. However, that does not make them so. Oftentimes they end up as thought leaders, pioneers, or revolutionaries.

This card is your permission to be bad, to even be the villain if necessary, IF, doing so is for good reason. If you need to be the bad guy to preserve yourself, and your sanity? You fucking do it. If acting in alignment with your values makes you a villain in someone’s eyes? Be the villain. Reminder: you don’t need the approval of people who don’t see you for who you are. This is also a major card, so let this be a lesson to inform future encounters/situations.

Capricorn: Four of Pentacles

Four hands reach towards a bright moon; one hand holds a sword, another has an eye tattoo. Ornate frame with leaves, reads "Four of Rings".
Four of rings (pentacles) from The Marigold Tarot

Takeaway: Lose the scarcity mindset.

You work hard for all you have earned. Trust me when I tell you that the universe knows you work hard. But sometimes the universe wants you to let yourself live too. Be generous with what you have, even if that just means being generous with who you are and your unique skill set.

You have so much going for you. Rest EASY knowing that you can handle any situation or obstacle that comes your way. You don't need to hoard or try and stockpile money or anything to create a false sense of accomplishment or safety. Trust, you have all you need to make it through this time.

Aquarius: Queen of Swords

Colorful tarot card art of Queen of Swords holding a sword, with a vibrant diamond-patterned dress, pink-blue hair, and bold facial features.
Queen of swords from the Tarot

Takeaway : It’s time to say what needs to be said.

The Queen of Swords is the ultimate messenger of truth, and it does not surprise me (at all) that this card falls to Aquarians. All the aquarians I know are 1) incredibly apt at identifying underlying/hidden patterns, and 2) unafraid to give voice to what they see (no matter the consequences). What truth needs to be revealed this season Aquarius? This card encourages you to give voice to this.

But this card also comes with a warning, the truth can hurt. Be conscientious of how you deliver this truth, and take care not to burn bridges. Remember, clear is kind.

Pisces: The Empress

A tarot card featuring "The Empress." A serene woman with stars above her, surrounded by lush greenery, flowers, and a waterfall.
The Empress card from The Intuitive Night Goddess Tarot

Takeaway : You are that bitch.

Pisces, this is your season to embrace your beauty, your intellegence, your creativity, your STRENGTH. Step into the power you wield. Let yourself feel good, feel confident, and acknowledge the bounty of what you have to offer,

Additionally, make sure you are advocating for your needs to be met. You have an inherently caring presence and that creates an aura of ease and safety for your community. Make sure there is reciprocity in your relationships. That may look like actually vocalizing your needs for the first time, it may look like walking away from something, or it may look like taking more time to tend to the self.

Final Thoughts on Tarot and the Holiday Season
